The state of being single refer to a person who is not in a relationship. For some people, being a bachelor or a bachelorette is a a difficult thing to live with day by day. For others, it is one of those aspects of their lives that they couldn’t be happier with. Whatever the case may be for being single, one thing that people with that relationship status didn’t have was a day to celebrate their status. In the 1990s, a bunch of students and Nanjing University, China decided to set a date to celebrate their singledom but some do look at it as an anti-Valentines Day Day. Anyway, the students decided on November 11 which when written numerically is 11.11 or one-one-one-one because it is all ones and it can also be taken further to its other name, ‘bare sticks holiday’.
How To Celebrate Singles Day
Over the years, this unofficial holiday has grown in popularity with single people using it as an excuse to spoil themselves with a gift or two and maybe even go out on a blind date. 11.11 is well established in China and it’s fever is slowly spreading to the west.
That said, Alibaba’s platforms have been the go to place to get a hold of deals on Singles Day. AliExpress which dubs itself as the global shopping mall and a place where you can get just about anything has already started running deals. A great thing about them is that their offers are available to people based in a number of countries around the world which makes this event a perfect occasion to grab something at a bargain.
MiniInTheBox, a virtual mall that works pretty much the same as AliExpress with the difference being that they have focus more on electronic items and gadgets. They currently have various coupons available and on 11.11 consumers could see the prices drop by as much as 90%.
Some people keep it simple and chose to get their hands on beauty products or fragrance from sites such as StrawberryNET.com, Beauty.com and Fragrancex.com. The great thing is that even though these retailers may not necessarily have Singles Day specific offers, they have started rolling out specials for the end of the year so you are bound to be able to get something for a bargain.
