A number of people seem to be getting into domaining or simply getting their hands on domain names for whatever reasons. A number of these domains sit undeveloped and the owners may not be aware that they could potentially cash in on their parked domains. There are number of services out there to choose from where people can park their domains. Google recently announced their rollout of Adsense for Domains which will give publishers another option through which they can monetize their domains. The parked domains will display ads, links and search results which will generate revenue when clicked.

At the moment it is only available to English language Adsense publishers in North America but it will be rolled out to other regions in the future.

There are a few people out there though who are not at all enthusiastic about the product and see it as a way of Google trying to make money however they can in the current economic climate. Adsense for Domains was formerly known as Domain Park which itself was a product that was very controversial for a number of reasons. It will be interesting to see how things pan out in the near future but I think I will give it a try once it becomes available to me and compare it to other parking services I have used.

So many people make a living registering domain names they come up with and sell them at a profit. If you are looking for a domain name PickyDomains can help you out by coming up with domain names or you can help their clients by suggesting domain names and profiting from it if it is good.

How their service works is pretty simple. If you are looking for a domain name, you deposit $50 into their account and give them details of the site you need named and preferences for the name such as keywords and the maximum number of letters and or words. This information is forwarded to their contributors and if they come up with something you like and register it you let them know about it so that they can pay the person who came up with the name. If you don’t like any of the suggestions they will refund your $50 deposit.

The process of earning money as a contributor is simple as well. When you register with them you will have access to orders that clients have placed. Here you will find detailed information on what sort of a domain name they are looking for and you will be able to suggest names. If the client registers your suggestion you get paid $25 (half of the deposit) with payments being paid out monthly via PayPal. If the names that you suggested are not chosen but PickyDomains sees them as having a good resale potential they may register them for resale on Sedo or GreatDomains. When a sale has been completed you get a third of the list value which for all you know could run into the hundreds of dollars or even more. Go on over, give them a try and maybe make yourself a few dollars.

s thingA couple of weeks ago I registered domain names for projects I am working on of which I will announce once the sites are up and running. In the process of trying to register domain names I got to thinking about parked domains. A lot of the names that I tried to register were already taken with a large portion of them parked.

Domain parking is basically a way of earning money from domain names you have registered and are not using. The domain displays as a page displaying relevant advertisements. You earn money when a visitor clicks on the advertisements.

I thought I would carry out a little experiment to see just how well domain parking works. I went onto eBay! to see if I could get my hands on a few domain names at a really good price. I managed to get my hands on a few for less than US$2 each which included OJSIMPSONFORUM.COM for US$0.01. My next step was to find a place to park them.

Almost all of my domains are registered at www.GoDaddy.com
and most of them are currently parked at Sedo and NameDrive where parking is free. GoDaddy’s parking program (CashParking) charges a monthly fee. CashParking plans start at $3.19/month with you receiving 60%-80% of the click fee revenue depending on your plan. I really don’t see why people would pay to park their domains at GoDaddy when they can do it for free elsewhere. For interest sake I will park a couple of domains with them and compare the results with the other parking services.
