GlobalTestMarket Paid Surveys – Scam or Not?

I signed up with GlobalTestMarket in 2008 as part of a little experiment I was doing to see which survey companies were legitimate or a total scam. What I quickly found out was that there weren’t too many I could sign up to or if there were ones I could sign up to I very rarely got opportunities from them to take part in surveys. That seems to be mainly because of my geographical location.

Out of all the survey companies I have signed up to, the one that has sent me surveys to take part in on a somewhat regular basis has been GlobalTestMarket. They usually email through three to four surveys per month which I usually attend to at the end of the day when I don’t feel like doing anything too taxing on my brain. It take a few minutes to get through most of their surveys but there are some that take a bit longer than a few minutes to complete but have higher payouts.

As a member, you are awarded MarketPoints for each survey completed and the number of points awarded depends on the type of survey and the length of time it will take to complete it. On average, I was earning about 35-50 points per survey and the highest I earned was about 110. MarketPoints can then be redeemed for cash with 1000 being the minimum amount required for redemption. MarketPoints are fixed against the U.S. Dollar at five cents ($0.05) per MarketPoint. It took me just over a year for me to reach the 1000 point mark and get paid out for the surveys I completed.

Do I think they are a scam or not?

From my experience with them, they seem to be a legitimate company that does pay out for completing surveys.
It took a bit of while for the cheque to arrive but it did eventually get here. As far as customer service goes, I have had a couple of issues with them where points went missing but a customer service representative did get back to me within a couple of days and rectified all the issues.

It may have taken a bit of while for me to reach the payout minimum but if you live in North America for example you may get more surveys on a much more regular basis than I did and reach the payout minimum quickly. One good thing is that depending on where you live they will pay you in your local currency but if they can’t print out a cheque in your local currency you will send you a U.S. dollar cheque. If they were a scam I would not have been paid out or received as much help as I did from their customer service representatives.

As promised, here are more survey companies to try out. This list gives more choice and caters to more regions in the world.

There were a number of other survey companies that I came across and decided to not list because they had a joining fee. At this point in time I’m not convinced that it is worth paying to join such a service. Something that may happen is that you pay to join and end up not having the time to complete any of their surveys. That’s money gone to waste. I’m out to provide ways of making money, not wasting money!

There are so many survey companies that carry out market research. A number of them reward members for participating in their surveys. As an incentive for participation they offer cash and/or other items such as electronics, gift certificates and the list goes on. Cash payouts vary from a couple of dollars all the way up to $250. You could net yourself a tidy amount of money just for giving your opinion. If it’s not hard cash you end up with you could walk away with a new TV or computer. That’s not bad for something that you can do in your spare time in a short amount of time.
