Get the best prices on eBay with their Best Price Guarantee

Mid last year, eBay took steps towards making sure that its users got a really good deal on a range of items with their Price Match Guarantee. With this offering, if you found something being offered for a lower price by one of their competitors, they matched the price. How the process worked was that you’d alert eBay to a lower price on a competitor site; the price would be verified; a coupon would be issued to make up the difference and complete the purchase.

eBay has decided to switch things up with their brand promise and replaced their Price Match Guarantee with a Best Price Guarantee (BPG). Their reasoning behind the revamp is that it gives shoppers the confidence that they will get the lowest price online when shopping on eBay.

How it works is pretty simple, if you buy something on eBay and then find it available for less on a competitors website, you may be eligible for an eBay coupon for 110% of the difference. So, if you buy something on eBay.com for $250 and then find it on a competitors website for let’s say $220 you will get a coupon for $33 (($250 – $220) + ($30 x 10%)).

Qualifying for the Best Price Guarantee

To qualify for the BPG, purchases must meet the following criteria:

  • Products that display the Best Price Guarantee badge, Daily Deal items and the Top 20 best selling products across numerous categories
  • Items must be available from an approved competitor which includes Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot, Jet, Sears, Target, Walmart and Wayfair
  • Items listed on eBay and competitor website must be exactly the same and be in stock

The BPG is available at no extra cost and there are no blackout periods meaning you can take advantage of it year round. An added bonus with eBay Deals is that they come with fast and free shipping so you don’t have to wait too long to get your hands on your purchase.

eBay says it is only available to U.S. residents but purchases initiated outside of the U.S. are eligible as long as the purchase is shipped to one of the 50 states. That said, if you live outside of the U.S. and come across a deal that you just have to get your hands on, you could consider a service such a MyUS (Get a FREE 30 day trial: Become a Premium Member today and also receive 20% off your first shipment!). MyUS gives members their own U.S. address. Purchases made on U.S. websites can then be shipped to your MyUS address and from there you can choose your preferred option to ship purchases internationally (they ship to more than 200 countries worldwide).
